I am so grateful for our precious grandchildren.
I regret that they are so far away,
but we willingly moved south.
However, that was before there were any grandchildren!!
I treasure each visit we make to visit with them.
Our daughter-in-law does a great job of sending pictures every few days and
we skype often, but nothing beats a hug and kiss in person.
Both of the grandchildren wanted to show off their bike riding skills,
so we walked to the neighborhood park about a block away.
Two days before we had walked to another nearby park for gymnastics class.
The parks department was holding a program outside
that was teaching bird characteristics.
The grandchildren knew all of the birds and
could find them in nearby trees and bushes.
Granted the birds were just beanie babies,
but the kids could identify all of them.
As we strolled back to the building we saw
a woman restoring this intriguing tree sculpture.
On our departure day the grandchildren had lessons,
so they left with mom while our son took us to the airport for our flight home.
I am already anticipating our next visit!!
