NEW PERSONAL RECORD!!

I have not run in any official events for awhile.

A friend invited me to be part of her work team for a 5K event.

I had run the event  last year and really enjoyed it,

so I said I would join her team.

KS joined us along with my friend's seven year old granddaughter.

 I was pleasantly surprised with my results -->  1st in my age group!!

The prizes for this event are really nice too.

I had been planning to buy a new thermos before our next road trip.

Now I won't have to because that was one of the prizes!!

 

Not a bad time for a mature woman!

 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

My dad celebrated his 87th birthday this year.

Sad part was that he had to celebrate in the hospital.

He got a bad case of influenza A and

spent six days in the hospital.

The nurse was nice enough to put in a good word 

with the cafeteria staff.

They sent a cake for his birthday dinner.

I discovered one of my running buddies was a nurse on my dad's floor.

She was not my dad's nurse, 

but it was nice to see a familiar face.
