Family Reunion in Biloxi, MS (part 1)

It was a bittersweet time in Biloxi, MS.  

My dad, all four of my siblings, my husband, and a few in-laws gathered in Biloxi to make new memories in a place that holds sad memories for all of us.  

One and a half years ago mom passed away in Biloxi.  

She had wanted to go have a good time doing what she loved (playing the slots) while she still felt good.  She had a great time, but then the Lord called her home. 

We all had a great time vacationing together as adults!  

We have always celebrated holidays together, but we have never vacationed all together as adults.

We started the vacation by visiting a few other casinos before we settled in at our home base, the Grand Casino, for four days.

Spring Update on the Kids

The kids are growing & blooming this spring!

Despite the lack of daily attention from their dad they are holding their own.

I miss the redbud trees, but the Jacaranda is the next best thing.

It is beautiful & the smell is divine!

Movin' Out - - - of Retirement

Two years of retirement was enough for Jim.  

He accepted a job in TN & went back to work full time.

Since the company pays relocation costs we decided to move some of our furniture to TN.

When we bought the FL house it came partially furnished, so we had furniture to spare.

After we made the decision to move things, they were packed & loaded within a week.
However, it takes two weeks to ship from FL to TN!!

Haircut Time

The last time we visited our grandson, his dad thought he needed a haircut.

All cleaned up!

BEACH DAY!

Recently friends from the north traveled south for their Spring Break Get-A-Way.

Jimmy was best man at their wedding & 

two months later J was the best man at our wedding.

We don't see each other often enough, but when we do it is like we saw them yesterday.

J & M made the long drive from the north with their 3 children & 

2 grandchildren in ONE vehicle!

We spent an afternoon at beautiful Clearwater Beach.

 After the afternoon at the beach we traveled further south 

to John's Pass for dinner & shopping.

There is a nice boardwalk with plenty of attractions.

We had a casual dinner at The Hut,

then the kids went shopping.

As we wandered the boardwalk we even saw some dolphins!

It was a perfect day with friends.

God Is So Good To Me

We enjoyed many concerts while visiting our grandson recently.

Here is a small sample.

Singing & dancing ...  Blah, blah, blah!

Maybe they will go on the road someday.

Such precious memories.  

Can't wait to see our grandson again!
