Hankering For Hiking

There is no comparison between hiking in FL and hiking in CO,
but there are not too many options close to this home.
 Happy Hiking!!

Last Days Around the Homestead

During our September visit we spent the last few days
actively working around the homestead.
I started out a few mornings with a walk down the driveway
greeted by this beautiful scenery.

Lean to for the generator
Firewood

While working on firewood we burned the reject wood in the fire pit.

Started work on a pathway from the back door to a beautiful scenic view.

Marked some baby cactus beside the pathway.
Reinforced fence around the garden.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of the homestead!

Quilt and Fiber Arts Exhibition

During the Labor day weekend there was a Quilt & Fiber Arts Exhibition.
We drove in to town on Friday to enjoy the local talent.
The Wet Mountain Weavers were displayed at Greenstone Artworks on Main Street.
The Quilt Show featuring the Olde Schoolhouse Quilters
was held in the one room schoolhouse.
The Contemporary Quilters & Fiber Artists were featured
in the Community Room of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.

I took a LOT of pictures, but I've shown just a sample below.

We were told these were excellent for keeping deer away from the garden.
I made a couple and we are going to try it in FL and CO since we have deer in both locations.
One more posting of CO vacation happenings and
then I'll move on to more current events.

Sights Around the Homestead

We woke up one morning to snow on the peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains!

Bambi and Friends

Wild Turkeys

One of my favorite views from the driveway!

Christmas in August!

The beginning of the rock wall around "three trees."

Of course there were feet around the homestead!
