If the weather cooperates, we always spend a lot of time at the park.

Since our grandson likes baseball better than golf, we play baseball!

Fort De Soto Challenge

I have not been to Fort De Soto, FL for 40++ years.

However, recently I was there twice in seven weeks!

In early October I joined with other gals from my running group for a 5K race. 

 We decided we would run the whole race instead of doing our usual run/walk intervals.

I did it!!

Seven weeks later we were back at Fort De Soto for another 5K  

 The goal was to continuously run 3.1 miles faster than we had run seven weeks earlier.

When we arrived at the start line it looked like snow!

It was a beautiful morning for a run!

 We met our goal and I even placed third in my age group!!

One and a half years ago I never dreamed I would be running continuously for 3 miles!!

I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

40th Anniversay Celebration

Our community recently celebrated it's 40th anniversary.

There were many activities throughout the weekend.

We enjoyed the K-9 demonstration with Reggie 

and his handler.

 The car show was a big hit!

 My fav was the Pontiac Le Mans since I drove one in high school.

 Hubby drove one of these during our college days.

 We determined that we are officially "old!"

One of the other activities we enjoyed was

an intro to shuffleboard.
