Sights Along The Pinellas Trail

We walked along the Pinellas Trail on Tuesday, December 28, 2010.  I am just now getting the pictures posted.  It was above 50 degrees, so I wore shorts, but my hands were frozen.  That made it a little difficult to take pictures!

We parked at the Dunedin Library.  Jim wanted to check the holiday hours.

They had added a new paved access from the library parking lot to the street sidewalk.  I'm sure they did this just for our benefit!

The library is right next to the Dunedin Jays baseball stadium.

Iris's is across the street.  This should be included in the next Dunedin restaurant zine!  After all it is Dunedin's Best Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner place.

Here we are on the trail!!

 Crime scene on the trail!
Did this have anything to do with the crime?

 Hmm?  Which way to go?

Jolly Mon Cafe - another selection for the next Dunedin restaurant zine.

Eli's Barbecue is another candidate for the restaurant zine.

Got food?

Newly painted trail signs!

 Santa visits the Tiki Bar.

 Rest stop with water.
Day care on the trail!

We sure have walked a long way!

Maybe a golf cart will come by & pick us up!

One of the few shops "knot" on main street.

New bridge at the golf course.

Brings back fond memories of being a Rita evacuee!

Another possibility for the restaurant zine.

Sewing on the trail anyone?

Best ice cream in town!
Well, maybe HOT chocolate or coffee today.

Time to head back home.  Just follow the sign!

Maybe we'll take the train.

Here we are back to our temporary home.
Hope you had fun on the trail. with us!

Fun with Family & Friends

We had a great afternoon of sharing with family & friends.  My mom & dad had a "shin dig" at their house this afternoon.  I got to spend time with BOTH of my sisters.  Sherry & her husband, John, were down from Michigan.  Dennise & her husband, Tom, live in Lakeland, FL, so they came over.  Here is the gang!
Mom had also invited several family friends to the "shin dig."  Some of the friends I have known for years, like Ed & Carolyn Turner.  Other friends I just met today, like Fuzz & Amy.  Here are some shots of the "shin dig."

John & Ed Turner talking "shop" in the kitchen.

Ann, my mom & Carolyn Turner pondering the "serious" discussion.

Jim, Amy & D'Vee chime in on the conversation.

John & Fuzz decorate the Christmas tree!

D'Vee, Dennise & John share some holiday thoughts.

My dad & Harriet "pose" for the camera.

We had a great afternoon & ate way too many sweets!
I hope to soon post the pictures from our "frigid" trail walk yesterday, so stay tuned.

Safe Arrival in Dunedin, FL

We arrived safely in Florida this morning.  Traffic was light & the weather conditions were favorable.  The temperature did not vary much at all.  It was between 29 and 32 degrees the whole trip, until we reached Ocala and the temperature started to climb.  It is in the low 50s right now with sunshine.  I will probably have some pictures to share later in the week, so check back.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We had a white Christmas in Kokomo, Indiana!
The new fallen snow was beautiful, especially where it rested on the tree branches.

We shared in a time of gift giving & receiving.

Shannon & Kyle were stylin' in their Christmas hats.

We had a surprise visit from Spiderman.

I decided at the last minute to finish the t-shirt quilt that I had started last year.  I had finished the quilt top last Thanksgiving.  A few months ago I had taken it to church to lay it out on big tables.  I pinned all the layers together & then put it back in the bag.  I decided last week to finish it, so I drove through a snow storm to go across town to JoAnns to get black material for the binding.  Many hours & sore fingers later it was finished!

Even the dogs received presents!

Relaxing after gift giving & stuffing ourselves with breakfast casseroles.

Kyle's friend & best man, Kurt, stopped by for a visit.  Kurt had moved to Washington D.C. a few months ago, but was in Indianapolis visiting family & friends for Christmas.  Kurt made the short jog to Kokomo to visit with Kyle.  They don't get to see each other in person very often, so they take advantage of the opportunity when it is presented.

I thank God for the greatest gift of all, His son Jesus Christ.
I pray that you all enjoy the day with friends & family.
Merry Christmas to all!
