RAINBOW TRAIL HIKE

The Rainbow Trail arcs along the base of the Sangre de Cristo
mountain range for almost 100 miles.
You can access it from various trail heads.
We chose to start at the Comanche/Venable trail head
and hike south on the Rainbow Trail to the Horn Peak trail intersection.

It was roughly three miles out and back.
The elevation change was from 9000 ft to 9500 ft.
It was mostly sunny and
we saw a lot of beautiful wildflowers and berries.

We crossed a couple of streams.

Cairns marked the spot!
We met one other hiker on our way south.

On our way back north we met another hiker and
two ATVs.
I thought this one was going to tip over,
but it did not.

We had a fun day out on the trail!!
